SHARON OSBOURNE: There Have Been No Complaints About Altered OZZY Reissues

June 26, 2002

Despite the public uproar that followed the announcement that some of Ozzy Osbourne's early solo albums would be re-issued with re-recorded bass and drum tracks courtesy of current Osbourne bassist Robert Trujillo and drummer Mike Bordin, Osbourne's wife/manager Sharon continues to maintain that fans of her husband's music do not care about the contributions from original bassist Bob Daisley and drummer Lee Kerslake.

"There's been no complaints because [guitarist] Randy Rhoads and Ozzy Osbourne is what it's all about," she said. "I don't honestly think that anybody today buys an album for some drum fill."

Ozzy's son Jack then blurted out, "I do," to which Sharon replied, "Fuck you, you're supposed to agree with me." Jack cited TOOL's Danny Carey as an example of how a drummer's performance can be an integral part of a band's music.
